Edmonton Living Rooms
The Edmonton Heritage Council and Multicultural Health Brokers Cooperative worked with seven different communities to create exhibits delving into the rich heritage of those who have come to call Canada home and celebrate Canada 150. This creative program combined photos, videos, stories and perspectives from around the city throughout 2017-18.
amiskwaciwâskahikan/Edmonton has been a living room welcoming guests for tens of thousands of years. We wish to thank the Indigenous peoples of Treaty Six Territory, the Cree, Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Iroquois, Dene, Ojibway/Saulteaux/Anishinaabe, Inuit, and many others, to whom we are indebted for their gracious hospitality and sacrifice, and for weaving the rich fabric of histories, languages and cultures of this place.
